As a system programmer I have been using Linux for many, many years, but always with Windows as backup since there are some apps only available for Windows, like some bank clients, Weixin, MSOffice suite, and most computer games, etc. However, the needs for Windows are regularly vanishing - for example, most bank clients are available on mobile devices now, Linux office suites compitability with MSOffice doing better than years ago,. Another reason is Windows updates constantly require latest hardware to work - my computer is an old one but still working, so I want to keep it.
XUbuntu suites my needs well - on this OS I could find most software I need, Office suite, multimedia, Internet tools, app store (snap store), and especially the abuntant software development toolchains which are an integral part of Linux ecosystem. The best part is its system requirements keeps low, which makes it work on my old combuter pretty well.
